New members strengthen the Cluster

CLIB has acquired several new members during the last few weeks, which bring new expertise to its membership and will help develop the cluster further.

With Stora Enso, a new large industrial member joined the cluster, broadening the important industrial base of CLIB2021. The Stora Enso group is a leading producer of pulp, paper and board. It is also one of the biggest forestry companies in the world.

„Our strong industrial basis is one of our unique selling points. With Stora Enso, an additional large industrial company has joined CLIB and shows the benefit of our cluster for such global players“, says Thomas Schwarz, Chairman of CLIB2021.

Concord Blue is an SME with strong expertise in process technologies and gasification, strengthening CLIB’s technological basis. The NISCluster from Finland is a strong partner in Scandinavia and with Biomillenia in Paris, CLIB has widened the European scope of the cluster. In the area of patent law, the expertise of the network is enhanced through the membership of Stolmár and Partners.

„Developing our membership is an ongoing effort. These five new members are not only a qualitative asset to our cluster, but strengthen key areas of our network and are positive signals for the future of our cluster“, opines Thomas Schwarz.

CLIB2021 is the competent network for industrial biotechnology with a strong base in the German Federal State of NRW and a strong international network. Founded 2007 in Düsseldorf, the cluster now counts about 100 members from academia, small and medium sized enterprises and the chemical industry. CLIB2021 organises its international collaborations and projects via four international offices in Canada, Russia, Brazil, and Malaysia.
