R&D Promotion

CLIB2021 supports you in the planning and realization of your R&D projects, within our competent Cluster Industrial Biotechnology. We provide expert advice and help you find cooperation partners in academia, in small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) and in industry – at German and European levels. We also offer a network of partners for the commercial aspects of your plan, ranging from patent utilization to distributors, customer industries or investors.

Topics

CLIB2021 promotes biotechnology R&D projects on raw materials, biocatalysts, processes, products and technologies that result in monomers, fine chemicals or in their functionalization. Promotion is also possible for biotechnological partial steps of chemical processes and for projects involving synergies between focal topics of CLIB2021.

CLIB2021 helps find promotion opportunities for suitable R&D topics, under all German and EU promotion programs. Application deadlines vary, depending on the promotion program.

Course of Action

We recommend the following course of action:

  1.  Contact us at an early stage. We give advice concerning current support programs and on the wording of the application.
  2. Send us a) an outline for the expert’s assessment and b) an abstract (overall target of the project, partners, total costs and funding rate). After the approval of the cluster’s board that your project is in accordance with the goals of CLIB2021, we will induce the project assessment. You may exclude members of the board or possible experts from the assessment for reasons of competition.
  3. If the outcome of the board‘s and expert‘s opinion is positive, we invite you to apply for promotion funds and request the formal funding application (e.g. AZA, AZK-forms). These documents, the project outline, 2 expert assessments and an advisory opinion by CLIB will be forwarded to the funding agency by our office.
