Scientific Cooperation between Academic Institutions

Ost-West-Wissenschaftszentrum

The Ost-West-Wissenschaftszentrum (East-West-Science Centre) in Kassel has the intention to support the scientific exchange with Central and Eastern European countries as well as to convey information on the landscape in science and technology in each of these countries.
The Centre provides a forum for discussions between scientists from East and West, supports the transfer of sustainable technologies and provides consultancy, technical support, and information. Continuing offers and programs range from the countries Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine to Belarus.
The OWWZ is the central coordinator of the German part of the Cooperation Network and primarily coordinates scientific projects between academic institutions.

Spokesman Systems Biology and Bioinformatics

The Institute for Bioinformatics is a forum for communication and joint research in Bioinformatics and Biomathematics at Bielefeld University. The main tasks of the institute are the coordination of interdisciplinary research projects, the organization of workshops and seminars, and the presentation of the activities and results of the involved research groups. The German-Russian Virtual Network of Bioinformatics "Computational Systems Biology" was established 2005 in Bielefeld, Germany. The Network has been organized to facilitate collaborative investigations and education in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology.
